Adnan Manzoor, MSc

Adnan Manzoor is a PhD student in the Behavioural Informatics group of the AI department at the VU University Amsterdam. He started his research work in December 2012 under supervision of Prof. Dr. Jan Treur and his co-supervisor is Dr. Michel Klein. His research interests include, but are not limited to, computational modelling of cognitive and affective processes and study the role of these processes in the context of a person’s social network both for purposes of monitoring and support, for example, via mobile phone apps.

Anouk Middelweerd, MSc

Anouk Middelweerd is a PhD student at the Department of Epidemiology & Biostatistics department and the EMGO Institute for Health and Care Research of the VU University Medical Center. Anouk has a background in physiotherapy (bachelor) and health sciences (master). Her main research is the development of m-health interventions aiming to promote healthy behavior. She has a special interest in the possibilities and opportunities that modern technologies (e.g., smartphones, apps, wearables) offer, and how they can be used to promote a healthy lifestyle.

Julienka Mollee, MSc

Julienka Mollee started working as a PhD student in December 2012, in the Behavioural Informatics group of the department of Artificial Intelligence at the VU University in Amsterdam. Her main research interest is the development of intelligent coaching systems that support people to make healthy lifestyle choices. In order to accomplish that, her research focuses on context awareness, computational modelling of psychological and sociological processes, and persuasive technology.

dr. Michel Klein

Michel Klein is an assistant professor Artificial Intelligence in the department of Computer Science. His research interest are the development of intelligent e-coaching systems for health care and well-being. Specifically, he is interested in the use of computational models for such systems, the interpretation of measurements on human behavior and the contextualization and personalization of coaching.

dr. Saskia te Velde

Saskia te Velde is working as an assistant professor at the Department of Epidemiology & Biostatistics and the EMGO Institute for Health and Care Research of the VU University Medical Center. She has a background in human movement sciences and epidemiology. Her research focusses on the promotion of healthy behaviours and discouragement of unhealthy behaviours, which includes the development and evaluation of interventions. She has a special interest in how the social environment can influence health behaviour and how this can be used in health promotion.

prof.dr. Hans Brug

Johannes Brug is professor of epidemiology and head of the Department of Epidemiology & Biostatistics of the VU University Medical Center. His research is mainly in the epidemiology and promotion of health behaviors, with a special interest in behavioral nutrition and physical activity.

prof.dr. Jan Treur

Jan Treur is a full professor of Artificial Intelligence at the VU University in Amsterdam. Among his many research interests are human-aware computing, socio-technological systems, cognitive modelling, dynamics of behavior, agent systems, computational modelling and human ambience.
